Sorry, Tom, I'm going to throw a last few, gasping replies into this
thread.

Jonathan, that's crap.

The argument I was drawing an analogy with was "The number of users
using X is greater than that using Y, therefore behaviour friendly to X
is the way to go.", for X=list-ignorant MUA's, and Y=list-aware MUA's.

No frooble->friggle sleight of hand here.
