Most people I know chose GNU/linux not for technical reasons but
because of the freedom.
I would still choose to work under Windows because
Freedom and esp. ownership of your own data, those might be themes
that interest you given that you choose Windows because ...
too many of the applications that I have a vested interest in
(e.g. due to proprietry document formats) are only available there.
you have no choice?
