I'd guess that unless you've read about your rights in the GPL license
file, you don't have any rights to use the code and if code you're not
allowed to use destroys anything, who's to blame? I hope no legal system
will answer different then - it's your own fault. Once they read the
GPL, there are no warranty statements in there. But it probably won't
hurt to add a message box that the user must read the GPL (not that many
will do, but that's not our problem) before running the game the first
time.
