Which newer software?

                                                         or the certificates

A workaround is to disable git's certification verification for the
    current shell:

    export GIT_SSL_NO_VERIFY=1

Would I have to do that every time I refer to that repo?
Or is just the first time enough?

    or for all commands with:

    git config --global http.sslverify false

Certification verification is a security feature, right?
If I deactivate it permanently, what risk is created?

I am using trisquel 10.

I did that. I will see if it works better.
