Bill,

Glad to see it works. I have posted a new build on the ftp site to fix this
problem by adding those env. vars during installation.

You may find font compiliation does not work properly without the full MikTeX
install. Test it to see, but if I remember right it won't work too well.

There are a few ways to set variables in Windows 2000/XP/2003. One is the
traditional autoexec.bat, another is throught the control panel and the last
one is by creating the entries under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE in the registry. All
work, but they actually don't do the same thing. The DOS environment block is
apparently seperate from the registry entries. If you notice in the
environment variable dialog, you probably won't see the entries for GS_PATH,
TEXMACS_PATH etc.. This is because my installer adds them to the autoexec.bat
file (this provides backward compatibility to Win9X which did not use the
registry for env. variables. Anyways, just thought you might like to know.

Please feel free to play around with it. I am already working on a few other
large improvements including a native windows file browser, and printing
without ghostview. The file browser in TeXmacs right now is very limited as
you cannot change drives. This is because of the fact that there are no drives
in Linux. As well, windows can also open files using network shares
(\\server\sharename). The native file browser can find these as well. So
rather than re-hack the original texmacs file chooser widget, I think I'm going
to just rip it right out.

Dan

P.S. Where are you in Canada??
