Savannah can also be used to report bugs, or request support.  It's
also a nice way to promote Savannah.  I'd think that many people are
familiar with the concept of a host like Savannah (or *gasp*
sourceforge), so maybe just putting the savannah logo button on the
side bar is a good idea.

Adding specific Savannah links to the bug reporter, patch manager and
CVS browser is also good and already done for the source code browser
in fact.

If you also want to add some paragraph explaining what savannah is,
that would also be fine.  I think that all of the above can be added
without losing the balance.

A patch is not needed before we can check it in.  However, bits don't
rot, so ;)
