Well since I was the last one working on the Saurians / Drakes I'll
limit my comments to them (Yay, everybody's favorite faction):

The Saurians are essentially 'done' I never really planned for a level
3 to the healer line...

The Drakes on the other hand did have level 3's planned:

A level 3 'Glider' -> Linear upgrade (Neo had some ideas for special
attacks, possibly a 'gust' attack. I wasn't sold on it, but since no
final art has been produced it's a moot point)

An upgrade 'Slasher' in the 'Clasher' line that would dead end the
'Gladiator' (with a possible power boost [like the 'Lancer']). This
would be a plain linear upgrade.

A level 3 for the 'Fighter' line. Linear upgrade, & the rest of the
units in this line could use some touch-ups (Graphically).

If you've followed the 'Drake Wars' I think these units were outlined
there, and I've mentioned them on the list in the past. ATM I don't
really consider these to be a 'high priority' and for the most part
I'd consider the Drakes done enough...

About a week ago I quietly contacted Shadow & Disto to see if they
would be interested in taking a stab at this units. I requested that
they stay quiet and stay out of the forums, and that they communicate
directly via PM & email. I didn't promise them anything beyond no 'BS'
and a fair viewing on the list. Their response was positive, &
'shadow' started feeding me a few images (speaking of which I should
really get back to him).

My reasons for keeping this quiet:
- The 'normal' Drake issues
- I just felt like asking two of the newer artists to see what they could do
- Didn't want to alienate Neo or make him think we found a replacement
for him (Theories about his potential reactions aside)

So I'd appreciate it if we resisted the urge to 'spill the beans' on
this more than I've already done. I'm not even sure if a) any of this
art will get produced, b) if I think it's good enough to be put to
this list, or c) if it will get approved by this list... The Drakes
are done enough that  there doesn't need to be a big push to get sub
par art in... and I wanted to give some 'newer people' a shot at some
art.

PS- Has Neo explicitly told anybody that he won't be back? If so would
you please tell me... I'm lucky I wasn't holding my breath for new
art, I could have died :) The last I heard he was just busy / gone for
an extended period, and he never explicitly said-- "Grr! I'm gone
forever!"
