@smallbook and friends

Opus informs me that she prints all books with @smallbook.

        In the documentation, it mentions that @smallexample,
@smalllisp, @smalldisplay, and @smallformat should be used with
@smallbook.  This begs the question, why doesn't @smallbook
automatically turn all calls of @foo into @smallfoo?

        (I see that in the source, this requires some hacking to do
properly, since \smallfoo calls \foo directly, instead of some
parent macro.)
