It's been said before, but I can't resist:

this is a really bad idea:
1) It only helps in some specific caches
2) Folk won't know to maintain the library until it becomes a space
problem

However, warning on stderr "No revision library exists, performance will
be impaired. Read chapter X of the tutorial."
