I dont't think Abstract Datatypes are completetly outdated. Maybe they have proven not to be usefull as _fundamental principle_ but that does not mean that some proplems would be solved elegantly and compact or whatever your criterea for Good Software is with ADT's.

You have to investigate your problem, look at what tools you have and what you like, and then make your decission. It's never good to use always the same, only out of personal sympathy or habbit nor is it good to expect a method to work for every situation (... equally good).
