Jan,Wow! I am positively amazed. If I could buy you a drink right now, I would. This puts LilyPond miles ahead in terms of being able to spread to Windows users. It worked for me with no problems whatsoever, including the recognition of fonts in my Windows font folder. The only inconsistency I noted was that sometimes after generating a PDF, LilyPad opened up with the log file, but sometimes the PDF was silently generated and no log file LilyPad window popped up.
Nevertheless, I am hugely excited, and the process for me was very quick and easy. Thank you!

The past weeks I've spent my lily development time on a mingw port and installer for windows. I'm sure this is far from perfect, but I do not want to hold it back any longer. The installer is not directly aimed at Cygwin/unix gurus, but rather meant for people who just want to use LilyPond. The plan is that after downloading and running the 12MB setup.exe, everything just works, including point and click. The only additional software needed is a PDF reader like Adobe Acrobat. Download from http://lilypond.org/mingw/setup.exe send success reports, bug reports, and patches here. I'm especially interested in information about using and integrating editors like [nt]emacs or jEdit, and usage with Cygwin. Jan.
