That's probably the origin of the trouble.
Normal users creates an account on savannah. Its password >
/etc/shadow

GNU maintainers have generally a kerberos account. They can use
directly Savannah with it (if i'm not mistaking). But at this moment,
it's expected from them to continue using their kerberos account.

Why? Because since you do not have password set, we do not have entry
to put in /etc/shadow (and we shouldnt do anything with the kerberos
passwd) 
The /etc/shadow depend on the user_pw database entry
[~]# mysql -e "SELECT * FROM user WHERE user_pw='proski'" sourceforge

The solution seems pretty easy: set a password for your savannah
account. 
Logged in, go at https://savannah.gnu.org/account/change_pw.php

It should do the job.
