Mainly interested in conversions from TeX into TeXmacs, because most times I am
writing texinfo files.  And texinfo files are plain tex.  It is not possible to use latex.
To be able to use latex commands in texinfo necessitates that the core in latex rather
than tex.

I do see a benefit from TeXmacs into TeX for use with texinfo, but the reverse is
a much more frequent.

Have doubts about whether TeXmacs has capacity to output plain tex for mathematical
expressions.  I would love if texinfo supported latex and plain tex.  From what I have seen,
having support for latex commands for Gnu Manuals could be decades away.

Corrrect. The focus is on mathematical formulas only.  That's the real usefulness for me.
Do not really delve into much else.

Thank you for your help.  I recognise that my use case is not something you may have
planned for.  Had noticed years ago that occasionally the file gets cleared after doing
a save, and loading the file again.  Have you been aware of this behaviour?
