To add user report to it, on Hyperbola GNU/Linux-libre OS:

I have tried M-S-x on Emacs GUI, and it is not detected by C-h k in
the Emacs version from 2021-02-20.

in XTerm, the shift is not detected, M-S-x is detected as M-x

in console (tty) it is not detected, M-S-x is detected as M-x
