Then be aware that IRC and in-game will be the only communication used 
by gamers, Wikipedia is really not aimed for them, but for the 
contributors! Of course there's also some overlapping between gamers and 
contributors, but that's not the point. Maybe IRC can be sufficient for 
the current gamer community, but imo gamers really want to have an 
offline communication tool that suits their needs, and that is a forum.

And yes phpbb sadly has a huge security hole... blame the php language 
that suits perfectly for hacking web stuff, but whose scalability is 
very bad. Is there any better forum? Or can phpbb be installed in a 
sandboxed environment?
