That is a good idea, I was not aware that 2.0 was out. So
SDL2.0+python+numpy is another engine option. It probably requires more
hand-writing than using the Blender game engine (for animating the 3D
sprites if we have any), but is probably more flexible. I guess that the
best solution will depend on how much 3D we want.
